The company has developed a very tenured team of excellent Managers. While the CEO continues to be very actively involved in leading the company, he would like to shift much of the day-to-day operational and financial reporting with his senior leadership to the newly created position of Chief Operations Officer. This will allow him to focus on strategic growth and expansion. The COO will manage the organization's overall internal activities and will have a broad scope of responsibilities including: Leadership; People and Operational Management; Financial Performance; and Marketing and Technology.
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone with a strong operations background; experience scaling and growing business models and systems in a multi-location manufacturing environment; good communication, financial planning, analysis and leadership skills; and a proven ability to motivate people to achieve organizational results. Preferred background would include exposure to hardwood or softwood lumber manufacturing, but this person might come from other primary or secondary manufacturing in the forest or wood products industry.
